Stilla: sustainable acoustic panels

Our impact

Since 2023, Stilla (then Akoestiekfabriek) reclaimed 13,492,08 m² of mineral wool panels (18.525), preventing over 135,514 kilograms of CO2 emissions, the equivalent of a 4,6-hectare forest in annual absorption.  With Stilla, a better environment is core to peace of mind.

Circular by design

Circular by design

In a world of excess, Stilla reimagines what already exists. Here, every acoustic panel begins with recovered materials: mineral wool insulation salvaged from demolition sites and frames made from reclaimed wood. Roughly 99% of every panel is made from recovered material: proof that circular manufacturing can meet rigorous acoustic and aesthetic standards.

Together with our deconstruction partners, we carefully select sites close to our workshop to minimize transport and ensure the quality, usability, and visual integrity of each panel. Even packaging is reusable, ensuring waste is minimized from start to finish.

Stilla commits to sustainable development goals

As a sustainable and circular company, Stilla is committed to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These are 17 goals relating to poverty reduction, education, equality, sustainable production and consumption, climate, and other social issues.

Stilla is helping to bring about change from the bottom up by pursuing these development goals at the company level. As an innovative Belgian company, we are taking responsibility for ending poverty, inequality, and climate change.

Below you will find an overview of the sustainable development goals that Stilla works towards every day and how we put those goals into practice.

Sustainable development

Our SDG Commitment

Good business should leave things better than it found them. At Stilla, that shapes everything from the materials we source to the networks we're part of. We measure our impact the same way we measure acoustics: with specifics. These are the UN Sustainable Development Goals we actively work toward.

No poverty

No poverty

Our main goal is to create quality jobs for people without a diploma. Quality jobs are challenging jobs with full-time, permanent contracts and a decent salary.

Zero hunger

Zero hunger

We provide a decent salary for every employee to enable them to live a good quality of life, regardless of their level of education.

Good health and well-being

Good health and well-being

With good acoustics, we offer a solution to noise pollution, the second most significant threat to the health of European citizens.

Quality education

Quality education

Schools are an important customer group for Stilla. This allows us to contribute to the creation of high-quality learning environments.

Gender equality

Gender equality

Stilla and its parent company FIX are actively committed to attracting women to the construction industry and related sectors.

Decent work and economic growth

Decent work and economic growth

We are committed to economic and sustainable growth, in particular by creating jobs for those often excluded. Our profits are invested entirely in the creation of new jobs.

Reduced inequalities

Reduced Inequalities

Good acoustics is not just a comfort issue, it's an access issue. Poor sound conditions make it harder for some people to follow conversations, stay focused, or feel included. At Stilla, that connection shapes how we work too: every employee is treated the same, paid fairly, and given room to grow.

Responsible production and consumption

Responsible Production and Consumption

Stilla panels start from reclaimed materials (waste that would otherwise end up in landfill) and are turned into a finished product from begin to end in Belgium. And because the panels are easy to maintain and simple to move when you redecorate or relocate, they're built to last in changing spaces.

Partnerships for the goals

Partnership for the Goals

Stilla is an active member of sustainability networks working to shape policy since lasting change happens on multiple levels, not just vis-à-vis product.
